Welcome to Rise

Welcome to Rise Wellness Club — a place created for movement, connection and feeling good.

When we opened our first Pilates studio in Skelmanthorpe in July 2025, our vision was to create something that felt different. We wanted Rise to be more than somewhere you visited for a workout. We wanted to build a welcoming wellness community where people could move their bodies, improve their strength and confidence, and enjoy spending time with others.

Since opening our doors, Rise has grown into a community filled with people of different ages, abilities and levels of Pilates experience. Some members joined us having practised Pilates for years, while others arrived feeling nervous before their very first class.

Every person’s reason for coming to Rise is different. Some want to feel stronger, some want to improve their mobility, some need time away from a busy lifestyle, and others simply want to find a form of movement they genuinely enjoy.

Whatever brings you through our doors, our goal is for you to leave feeling better than when you arrived.

And now, we are incredibly excited to be preparing to open our second Rise Wellness Club studio at Meltham Mills in Huddersfield.

From Skelmanthorpe to Meltham Mills

Opening our first studio in Skelmanthorpe was the beginning of something very special.

From early morning Reformer Pilates classes to relaxed conversations after a session, Rise has become a space where movement and community come together. Seeing friendships form, confidence grow and members make Pilates part of their weekly routines has been one of the most rewarding parts of our journey.

The support we have received from our local community has allowed us to take the next step and bring Rise to a second location.

Our new Pilates studio at Meltham Mills will give even more people across Huddersfield, Holmfirth, Meltham and the surrounding villages the opportunity to experience Rise.

Although our locations are growing, the heart of Rise will remain the same: expert-led classes, beautiful and welcoming spaces, and a community where everyone feels comfortable.

Reformer Pilates in Huddersfield

Reformer Pilates is at the centre of what we do at Rise Wellness Club.

A reformer is a specially designed piece of Pilates equipment that uses springs, straps and a moving carriage to support and challenge the body through a wide range of movements.

The resistance can be adjusted, which means exercises can be adapted to suit different abilities and experience levels. Reformer Pilates can help to improve:

  • Core strength

  • Posture

  • Balance and coordination

  • Flexibility and mobility

  • Muscular strength and endurance

  • Body awareness

  • Controlled, low-impact movement

You do not need to be flexible, experienced or particularly fit to begin Reformer Pilates. Our instructors will guide you through the equipment, demonstrate each exercise and offer adjustments throughout the class.

For anyone attending their first session, we recommend arriving slightly early so your instructor can introduce you to the reformer bed and help you feel comfortable before the class begins.

Whether you are searching for Reformer Pilates in Skelmanthorpe, Pilates classes in Meltham or a welcoming Pilates studio near Huddersfield, Rise offers a supportive place to get started.

Mat Pilates

Mat Pilates uses controlled movements to strengthen the core, improve alignment and increase overall body awareness.

Although Mat Pilates does not use a reformer bed, that certainly does not mean it is easy. Classes can be adapted using body weight, Pilates balls, resistance bands and other small equipment to create a varied and effective workout.

Mat Pilates is ideal for anyone looking to improve their strength, stability, posture and mobility while developing a stronger connection between the mind and body.

It is also a brilliant complement to Reformer Pilates, helping members develop the control and technique that can support them across all areas of movement.

Hot Sculpt Classes

Our Hot Sculpt classes combine Pilates-inspired movement with strength and conditioning exercises in a heated studio environment.

These sessions are designed to challenge the whole body while improving strength, endurance and stability. The heat adds intensity to the class and creates an energising experience that many of our members love.

Expect controlled movements, powerful sequences and a class that leaves you feeling strong, accomplished and ready to take on the rest of your day.

We recommend bringing water and a small towel to Hot Sculpt sessions.

Barre Classes

Barre combines elements of Pilates, ballet-inspired movement and strength training to create a full-body, low-impact workout.

You do not need any dance experience to attend. Our Barre classes focus on controlled movements, balance, posture and muscular endurance, with particular attention often given to the legs, glutes and core.

The movements may be small, but the challenge can be mighty.

Barre is a great option for anyone who enjoys an uplifting group class while still benefiting from precise, purposeful movement.

Pilates for Beginners

Starting something new can feel intimidating, particularly when it involves unfamiliar equipment or walking into a studio for the first time.

At Rise, beginners are always welcome.

You do not need to know the terminology, understand the reformer or be able to perform every exercise perfectly. Learning is part of the experience, and our instructors are there to guide you.

Our classes are designed to help you build strength and confidence gradually. Movements can be adjusted, and you will always be encouraged to work at a level that feels appropriate for your body.

Pilates is not about competing with the person next to you. It is about learning how your own body moves and celebrating the progress you make along the way.

More Than a Pilates Studio

Rise Wellness Club was founded by Jodi and Sophie with a shared vision of creating a wellness space where people could feel supported, connected and inspired.

For us, wellness is not only about exercise. It is also about community, confidence and creating moments in your week that are just for you.

That is why we have always wanted Rise to feel welcoming from the moment you arrive. It is a place to enjoy your class, speak to your instructor, meet new people and stay for a coffee afterwards.

Alongside our regular timetable, we also host social events, wellness experiences and opportunities for our members to connect outside of classes.

We believe movement can bring people together, and the community that has developed at Rise is at the heart of everything we do.

Which Rise Class Is Right for You?

The right class will depend on what you enjoy and what you would like to achieve.

Reformer Pilates is ideal for building full-body strength using adjustable resistance and supportive equipment.

Mat Pilates focuses on core strength, control, posture and mobility using body weight and small Pilates equipment.

Hot Sculpt offers a more intense heated workout combining strength and Pilates-inspired movement.

Barre is perfect for anyone who enjoys low-impact movement, upbeat classes and exercises that challenge balance and muscular endurance.

Many Rise members choose to combine different classes throughout the month, allowing them to enjoy variety while developing strength, mobility and confidence.
